This collection of photographs was taken in Southern Africa’s “kingdom in the sky”, the beautiful, mountainous country that pops out like an island in the Middle of South Africa. The images portray the colourful, rich diversity of the landscape juxtaposed with its beautiful people who blanket themselves in both the traditions of their cultural heritage together with the influences of contemporary society. However beneath the surface of this visual tapestry, HIV and soil erosion are but two of a myriad of social challenges that plague the people and landscape of this country. My intention of this collection of photographs is to mirror the delicate layers of this unique place and celebrate Lesotho’s enigmatic beauty.
The images were photographed using a combination of film and digital media.
